The days past...

During the time of my last post, I have done many things. Also many things have changed! The weather is not anywhere close to spring! I almost want to shout out to mother nature and say "STOP!" Here, where I live I am not affexcted by the flood waters but some of my friends are, which is rather unfortunate.

The flood water in Manitoba is really getting out of hand but you can not fight it. There has been a few accident like a man stuck on Grand Valley road who needed air rescue. A school in Brandon was shut down and now they are going to school in BU. I think it would be fun to go to school in BU but you have to go out to Kemney and then back into the city. That is a lot of extra driving because of water!

Also, Westman Blizzard played there first games in Brandon and Winnipeg. We lost both of them to U13 girls from Portage Trail and Northwest. The playing field in Brandon is Optimist Park but it is buried in close to 4 meters of water, or even more!

The 30 hour famine at VJH is approaching quickly with only 1 day left! I am so excited but have to leave early because of soccer training.  It kind of sucks but I like soccer! I am glad that I have the skill to work with the ball!

Anyways,  I really hope that the summer days come quick because I want a tan so much nobody could even imagine!

And that's game...

It was already late in the second half when the whistle blew. Nobody knew what there was blowing it for but he play was dropped dead. The ref soon realized the play was correct and there was nothing wrong with it... I was not offside! The Westman team got another free kick in between the center and the third line on the pitch. I kicked and it was a little too short but the wingers ran and reclaimed possession.

The coach called TIME and we all gathered around and he advised us to keep possession and don't kick the ball if you panic. We huddled into a tighter clan and altogether we chanted, "WESTMAN!"

We all knew the clock was ticking. at this point it was a tie game. Shailyn  took a shot from the third like and we  could see the goalie of northwest FC had lost sight of the ball and... BANG, the ball was sitting in the back of the net and we came out with our third victory to this team.

" Shailyn! that was the winning goal! Nice shot! Those new cleats must be just dandy for you!" as the team shouted all the compliments out the her.

April Fools!

Sam felt the sun shining down on his shoulders while he sat happily by the stream. It was a perfect sunny day and luckily he was spending it with Sarah. Then, all at once Sarah pointed at the water. “Look Sam!” Sarah exclaimed.

“It is a… string ray! Where could it come from?"

" I have no clue. I thought sting rays lived in salt water, not fresh! This is really confusing me," Sam continued, "Perhaps this is like a television show I watched on Discovery Channel!"

" Sam? What show was it? Can your remember?"

" Um... It was River Monster. It was about a 287 pound string ray that was folowed and tracked until caught in a net. The only other surprise was that it was carrying little baby string rays!"

"Aweh, that's so cute! Where may have it be filmed Sam?"

" I am positive that it was filmed in Mississippi."

" SAM, that is not good! We are in Mississippi!"

Sam and Sarah grabbed their towels and books and everything else they had and put it under their shoulder and ran like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunatly the have not realized that sting rays are harmless unless you make then angry. They soon thought later...

"Sarah, when I watched this the fishers were in the water with it. How did that work? I thought they could kill humans with a slight glance of an eye."

" Oh my goodness You read too many comic books! If I think way back when I was a young child. I learned in grade two that sting rays and manta rays are harmless! They only clean the bottom of the ocean. Did I really believe you Sam?"

"Yes, you did! I was just kidding!"

"Sam! You really immensely scared me! How did you do that? Or do I really want to know ?"

" Haha, you probably don't want to know but I'm going to tell you. First I cut out an outline of a string ray and hid it in the mud the night before. I called you to see if you would join me a lovely day along the river. And you agreed, which made it even better!" Sam explained, " I didn't think you would fall for It so quickly but I guess I was wrong! So I guess I should say, APRIL FOOLS!"

The long time friends had there differences but they finally said forget it. Sam's family left and moved to Montana and left Sarah all along. They have never seen one another since the year 2010.

" Grandpa! Can you read another story!" Jessie pleaded.

" No, No It's time for bed you young little  lad. Always remember to respect your friends you have! Don't leave them if the world ended!

The days of poetry. !

Early March Mr. Oldcorn's and Mr. Wilson's class gathered together and had a Poetry Slam. We all had jobs to do but, most of all I was in charge of decorations. In the art room we had paint brushes working hard to make a banner to represent Poetry Slam 2011!  We finger painted and had a great time working together. The hardest part was probably getting the letter big but also keeping them neat and tidy.

I think the Poetry Slam went great because almost everybody was laughing and having a good time. Everyone had two poems memorized and spoke them aloud to the classes.

I thought that I did alright because I partly forgot my poem. I tried my best and I tried to speak loud but I don't think it worked to well.

My Mother Said..

My mother once told me, "Not to go hiking by myself." I never believed her one bit. I always used to say
"Whatever, nothing will happen. It is only a hiking path." Nothing she ever said to me was true so I never believed this one either.

So, I wanted to prove my mother wrong, so I tested her words and went hiking alone. Not just that, I don't think she trusted me alone.

The next morning I set off at the set of the sun and took off on a famous hiking path, The Curious Consequences. The name has always scared little children but I have now turned 10 and I am no longer a child. I consider myself as a young adult.

So later on, I saw a sign said, The Ten Mine Mark! Good Job. Keep Going.

I carried on and the daylight faded into dark and the animals came out at night. That is also what mother used to say.

Finally I heard what mom was talking about! I heard the owls and bears and wolves. I don't know how I was going to survive through this loud stormy night.

I started to think of the worst things that could happen. First a kidnapping, then get swept away in a tornado. I think there was also a time that I say a bear chasing after me.

I couldn't believe what was happing. There was a ten thousand pound grizzly coming after me. I started to run, but I had to thing, should I run up the path or  down the path? I chose down, maybe just because the bear was coming at me from the top of the path.

I kept up as fast as my little legs took me. I had to otherwise I would be mauled and die instantly. I never thought that my life could end so quickly, so I dodged trees and branches; even a couple rocks I think. So I finally saw the flag that took me on the adventure.

I ran into the chalet and there were my parents waiting for me. I had no clue they would now I went hiking alone but I guess they did. I gave then big bear hugs and said, " I am glad this is the only bear hug I am getting in this lifetime.

They had no clue what I was talking about and I am also kind of thankful for that.

5 years later, I finally take back everything I had said.

A weekend at Pyott's with Adrienne. !

Way back when... Adrienne and I have a great jolly weekend at Lake of the Prairies. It was i while back but the moment we still look back and laugh about is a baby bottle pop incedent.

"Shaelyn, i'm hungray!" Adrienne said those words alot at the lake.
"Want to have a baby bottle pop? but they aren't easy to open." i told her but she never really listened.
"Kay, give it over. I could use a knife or something."
" Umm...Adrienne, you are not too graceful with knoves, I don't think I trust you!" that time she listened, but Adrienne was offended.
"Well then." she went to the cupboard; grabbed a steak knife and started taking the plastic wrapper off of the candy.
"Adrienne, don't cut yourself!" I repeatidly said.
"Don't worry; I'll be fine. I will not cut..." as she was still prying away,"OUCH, I cut my finger!"
" I told you to be careful, but no!" as I laughed.

Great Days being young and hanging out at Pyott's!

What just happened?

The girl has never been so upset before that she messed up on a long pass giving the other team a break away facing out worst goalie; and they scored. The Blizzard team wasn't very surprised but with that goal, it makes the score 6-3.
" It isn't your fault, Nimrit, we should of helped you out more!" the captain #4 explained as coach Rob stood by watching.

"It is only half time and they scored 6 goals on me." Nimrit said, " Please let Kendall go in net, maybe we will have a chance of winning!"
"NO Nimrit, we need you. We will work extraordinarily hard to score 4 goals and win for us!" #4 responded.

10 minutes into the 2nd half the blizzards kicked it up a notch or two. Now the score was 6-5.
"One more goal!, C'mon girls" Shailyn repeatedly said to us. "We can win this if we set our minds to it. Go hard, go aggressive, get the ball!"

Number 4 goes into the corner trying to be agressive like Shailyn said; when a player off the opposing team kicks her right in the head and she goes down.

Number 4, happened to be Melissa; our best player of the Blizzard. Rob went out to the pitch and saw what was wrong. They decided to call the ambulance to be on the safe side.

The longest 7 minutes of my life came and picked up our best player on the team.
"Now what are we going to do? Cody Greenwood is out for the rest of the season, me in net, and Tori now having to be D taking away on the 2rd line. What is going to happen next?" as Nimrit went on and on the team stopped listening then she finally can back to the real world.

As the refferee blew his whistle for an offside, we won the drop kick and off to a break away. Shailyn was off with her hair plowing in the wind she used her in-step and snuck around the leagues best keeper. No one would have thought we could turn this game around.

4 minutes remaining when we scored another goal in Melissa's honor. Next thing we knew we were getting the easiest chances to score and the Blizzaeds finally scored their goal they have been waiting for...

Christmas Break 2010

2010 Christmas I fly to Punta Cana, Dominican Republicà with my family. While we were there we went on dune buggies. The buggies took us to the back side of there country and saw the less fortunate families and their housing. The little girls and boys were waving at us while we passed. We stopped at a cave that you could swim, a beach, and also some markets. They also took wus into mud puddles while me and dad blew into them while Connor and mom slowly entered them and stalled the moter. One of the times me and dad hit a rock in the puddles and stopped intantly. The buggies were fun and so was the resty of the vacation.

Not only the buggies, we took a 45 minute walk down the beach to go to the markets. while there, I got a backpack and necklace with lava rocks.

The rest of the days were kind of rainy but I still got burnt.I played some games with Frank and some other kids at the resort. One of the games was Fruit bowling and coconut toss.

We stayed at the resort og Grand Paradise Bavaro.

On our way home we got detoured to the Lynden Pindling International airport to get fuel in the Canjet airplane.

Last post of 2010!

Write about a time when your parents really surprised you. Did this event or situation seem out of character for your parents? Was this surprise a good one or a bad one? What was your reaction?

One day I got home from school, December 16th actually, Back to the story, I got home from the bus at 3:53 and my mom was sitting at home with all smiles on her face telling me we are not having Christmas this year! We were having Christmas on a beach in Mexico. At this I was very surprised because I could never imagine my father laying on a beach. I could never see my mother laying on a recliner with the hot Mexican sun shining down on her. She likes sun and all but I never could have imagined her sitting on a chair doing nothing for a whole week, but it seemed to happen.

When we got to Puerto Vallarta Mexico we checked into our all-inclusive resort. We went to our room and changed into our bathing suits and cover ups and went to the beach and walked around the rest of the hour.

Most of the whole week we were there we spent on tours and walking the Banduras Bay It was a great holiday to Mexico.
